On 16th of July 2024, STAM as ESA Technology Broker for Italy presented the ESA Spark Funding Call within a workshop organized in Rome by AIPAS – the Association of Italian Space Enterprises – for their members.
ESA Spark Funding is launched for the first time in Italy within the framework of the ScaleUp programme thanks to the collaboration between ESA ed ASI. Tanya Scalia from ASI introduced the initiative, by illustrating the scope of ESA Spark Funding aimed at supporting technological transfer projects addressing both spin-in (from non-space to space) and spin-off activities (from space to non-space).
Giannicola Loriga and Stefano Carosio from STAM provided specific information about the funding scheme, the eligibility criteria, the application as well as the expected results.

SMEs or larger entities that must:
-be legal entities registered in Italy with headquarters in Italy, comply with Italian tax and social security obligations
-ensure that the proposed activities are not already funded through other means (ESA, European Commission, etc.).

-Complete the ESA Spark Funding application template.
-Submit the document as a single PDF via email to SparkFunding@esa-technology-broker.it, with the subject “ESA Spark Funding Italy Open Callβ.
-Applications can be submitted at any time, before September 16th, 2024, 23:59 CET.
